BodyTree Gymnastic Strength Training (GST) Classes

Our classes cover various aspects of whole body conditioning, including strength and stability, flexibility, agility, improved coordination, and enhanced joint function.


GST Push

Fundamental pressing strength to develop:

  • Chest;
  • Shoulders;
  • Arm;
  • Hip; and
  • Glute muscles.

Class will include integrated

  • Mobility for the shoulder girdle to prevent shoulder injuries
  • Flexibility targeting spinal flexion and hamstring flexibility to prevent lower back injury.

 

Objectives: To progress towards mastery of the following gymnastics skills

  • Bent arm planche, straddle planche and straight arm planche
  • L-sit hold, straddle-L hold and middle split hold
  • Manna
  • Shoulder press in handstand, chest roll to handstand
  • Hollow back press to handstand

GST Push


GST Pull

Fundamental pulling strength to develop . lats . arms . abdominals . hip. back extensor muscles

Class will include integrated

  • Integrated mobility to improve spinal mobility and strength to prevent lower back injuries
  • Lats muscles mobility to prevent shoulder impingement injuries.

 

Objectives: To progress towards mastery of the following gymnastics skills

  • Front lever
  • Side lever
  • Rope climb
  • Bridge
  • Standing back bend to bridge

GST Pull

GST Legs

Fundamental leg strength essential for daily functions and for sports performance like running, skiing, swimming.

The class will include integrated mobility targeting hip, knee and ankle to prevent knee injuries.

Objective is to progress towards mastery of the single leg squat and improve your vertical jump.

GST Handstand

The handstand is a fundamental skill in bodyweight exercises. Working this move will build strength and develop total body coordination. The class will take you through the exercises essential to attain the straight handstand line using both strength and balance. It will involve balance, stamina, endurance and partner work and integrated S.A.M. for the wrist joint to prevent wrist injuries.

This class is mandatory for every student to incorporate into the weekly routine for increased flexibility, mobility, and joint health and to enhance your GST practice.
